The trombone is a musical instrument in the brass family. It has a telescoping slide mechanism that varies the length of the instrument to change the pitch, and is a vital instrument in jazz music due to its unique way of playing.
As an 8-year trombone player, Jeremy Chi (Chi Tianyu) has played in various bands with different styles and has won several Chinese and international musical awards in cities including Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo. Currently, he is playing in two premier bands in Auckland Grammar School.
